Design considerations and potential welfare unit layouts
Within the constraints of the overall 12ft dimensions, you have many options to consider. Our design experts are more than happy to talk you through what is achievable and practical.
That discussion usually starts with your own priorities. For example that might be to provide canteen accommodation with male /female toilet facilities and a drying room with a heater, hat and coat hooks.
Alternatively, you may wish to incorporate some office space and specify features such as full forearm hot wash sink unit in the toilet section, provide urinals as well as a cubicle(s) in the male toilets and so on.
Much may depend on the staff numbers and gender makeup you wish to accommodate, and for how long.
Utilities on site can make a difference
For static units on long term hire, some sites make electricity, water and even sewage systems available for connection to the welfare units. However, the most common scenario is that units are powered by an integral generator, water for washing is stored in a refillable tank and chemical toilets are necessary.
Drinking water can be provided
Let us know of any utilities available on site at the outset of our design discussion.
